Female ruby-throated hummingbird in Chicago, IL.

It’s the end of summer here in Illinois, so we’re starting to get some hummingbirds. Males have a iridescent red throat, as their name implies, while females have a rather mundane throat which can seen above. This little bird was shortly chased off by another hummingbird. They’re very fierce!
